for ever pound of weight lost you give him 5 *****. Let him know that he can build up the amount of ***** he can get before cashing it in.
He will find time for exercise then.

Let me suggest what worked for me.
Start every meal with lots of fresh salad without dressing.
    Have a fruit between meals.
This has helped me in reducing my intake during three primary meals and I can see my weight going down (2 kg in last 20-25 days)

Call your doctor and ask to be scheduled with the nutritionist (dietitian). If he/she doesn’t have one on staff, ask for a referral. You and your husband can work with the nutritionist to modify his unhealthy diet.

Diabetic recipes are just common-sense recipes for the most part.
There are some really good ones here:

It doesn’t have to be accomplished in one week. Take it slowly, perhaps introducing one new healthy food per week and eliminate one artery-clogger.

Nutritionists are accustomed to dealing with very stubborn people, so don’t despair. If your husband refuses to go with you, go by yourself to learn good nutrition. Then you can implement changes on your own.

Overweight and no exercise is often a predictor of diabetes. Your doctor should request tests for cholesterol, triglycerides, and diabetes. Tell him you want him to be healthy because you love him.

If he completely resists, make sure his life insurance is paid up…

    This site may help:

Click on My Pyramid Plan on the right-hand side and enter your husband’s information. This will help you plan meals by giving specifics on how much and what type of foods are good for a healthy diet.

Eating healthy is more important than dieting. Adding fruits and vegetables to meals can help fill your husband up.

If I take the time to slice carrots, tomatoes, cucumbers, and other fresh vegetables and put them in dishes on the table, my family will eat them.

If I take time to prepare fresh apples, grapes, strawberries, pineapples, and bananas and put them in dishes on the table, my family will eat them.

Decrease the number of unhealthy snacks (potato chips, doughnuts, soda, etc.) in your home.

Cook with olive oil instead of vegetable oil. Use spices instead of butter (chili powder is great on vegetables!).

I have a very, very picky family. I often have to prepare two separate main dishes for meals.

A typical meal at my house might be pasta and olive oil sprinkled with oregano. On the side would be sliced chicken ******* (cooked in olive oil), broccoli, and carrots. I might also add green beans or peas on the side and make sure everyone gets at least 1 cup of vegetables.

Do we ever eat unhealthy? Certainly! My homemade cheese-garlic bread with real butter, for instance; or my sour-cream caramel brownies. However, I try to limit things like this to one time weekly.

Walking is the best exercise for most people. If you have a child (one of your previous Questions said you do), put the child in a wagon or stroller and your family can take a 30-minute walk around the neighborhood. Most people can find 30 minutes out of every day for exercise. Even a 15-minute daily walk is good.

As another poster suggested, stress the link between being healthy and having good ***. People who exercise have better *** lives.
