yes, when I was going to school I had to walk. I walked every where I went. But no days, the parents are afraid to let the kids walk to school because of all the pediphiles. They are afraid someone will get them on their way to school or on their way home.
Type 2 diabete’s is usually on set in the later part of your life. It doesn’t mean it is any more dangerous the type kids get. It is a life threatening disease and it should be taken very seriously. I have a son that takes insulin due to the fact he is in a wheel chair and get’s no exercise. You have to eat little meals 5 to 6 times a day, but it can;t contain sugar, carbs, or starch. Alcohol sugar is the same as sugar, you will find it in sugarless candies, so don’t let the sugar free sign on the candies fool you. They have alcohol sugar too.

Well, many obese children do not have enough money to get involved in a team sport or competitive thing. Most live too far away to walk or ride there bikes to school, so they ride the bus.

People these days consume more calories than they burn.

Childhood diabetes occurs when the body’s immune system malfunctions and attacks the islet cells in the pancreas which produce insulin. Researchers do not yet know why this happens. They hope to be able to create new islet cells from stem cells and use them to get the body to produce insulin again.

Adult-onset / Type 2 diabetes usually starts with the body’s cells becoming resistant to insulin. Obesity can be one factor in starting this process, but, again, the exact causes are still being researched. Diet and excercise kept my blood sugars at a reasonable level for years, but now, I also have to inject insulin.

A diabetic does not have to avoid all sugars, carbohydrates, starches, as stated in an earlier answer. Diabetics do have to monitor how much carbohydrate they consume, because it all has to be offset with insulin, from the body or from an injection.

Lots of information available from the American Diabetes Association.

too much junk food or preprepared foods
    lack of physical activity
too much soda or sugary drinks
too much sugar and white refined breads
not enough fiber such as whole wheat and grains
not enough fresh fruits and vegetables
    oversized food portions
    too much fatty meats
too much time in front of a tv or computer
more and more mother’s in the workplace causing improper diet
years ago kids went out to play and did not sit arround with all the new gadgets they have today
also there we not as many places to get fast food and kids didn’t have the money to stuff themselves with BIG MAC’S. etc
also more foods were fresh then today alot of foods high in salt sugar and preservatives are consumed
many families do not sit down to eat a proper meal today due to busy schedules and eat on the run and it is usually the worst and easiest food that is eaten
walking to and from school and friend’s houses was how it was not being driven everywhere

The **** tube, computers, play stations and other games that keep a kid setting on their **** as well as junk food causes the overweight children. Parents should be making their children exercise and eat right so it ultimately comes back to the parent for not enforcing and reinforcing a healthy diet and exercise. Then they wonder why their kid gets diabetes.

Summary: A researcher in the United States claims that the reason for the obesity epidemic is more than just the calories we eat and the lack of exercise. It’s a substance that food manufacturers are widely using.

if you are talking about a link within the two ive got an answer..

obese kids obviously have a large food intake. their bodies are big in mass as well. so, for an obese kid to get the diabetes type 2 is because their body is too big for the insulin to manage it all.

really obese kid + not enough insulin = diabetes type 2
