No other lifestyle or medical condition such as blood pressure, cholesterol, obesity, syndrome X and then illness such as cancer, liver disease etc labels a person such as we do with diabetes. We are people with our own identity and personality with a pancreas or insensitivity to insulin problem. Type 1 is in any case like HRT, the body only lacks the ability to produce insulin and therefor requires the replacement of this specific hormone.

If someone gets diabetes from being overweight, is it possible for the body to start responding to insulin again? I think I saw it on some weight loss show (biggest loser?) where the trainer told a guy that he had great news, his body was starting to respond to insulin again.
Was he just showing symptoms, and not truly diabetic, or did his body reverse the disease?
